Since June, auditors appointed by the BMC have gone over nearly 11,000 bills generated by private hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients. The exercise, undertaken to detect inflated bills and prevent overcharging, resulted in the refund of over Rs 15.5 crore to patients till December.
